What to expect from a Threefold appointment…
1. TUNING
Your piano is designed to sound its best when tuned to A-440, the international pitch standard. At this pitch, power and tonal range are optimum and your piano will match the pitch of other instruments. When your piano varies from A-440, pitch adjustments are required to bring it back to standard. By always maintaining your piano at standard pitch, you create long-term tuning stability because the strings and structure stay in equilibrium.
2. REGULATION
Regulation is the adjustment of the mechanical aspects of a piano to compensate for the effects of wear. When your piano is not in good regulation, it is no fun to play. Each appointment includes regulation touch-ups to get your piano feeling better under your fingertips.
Depending on your piano’s condition further regulating may be necessary, which requires a separate appointment.
3. CLEANING & REPAIR
Excessive dust and debris can cause piano parts to wear more quickly, so it is important to keep your piano clean. Light exterior cleaning and key cleaning are included in each appointment, along with minor repairs that may be needed.
